Motorcycle Helmets
Airbrush
Action magazine tasked
Carpel to repurpose their dynamic how-to video program Airbushing
Motorcycle Tanks.
The publisher was so happy
with the results, he commissioned Carpel to produce two more DVDs from other
AA titles: Painting
Motorcycle Helmets and Airbrushing Bowling Pins!l

DVD program design is a collaborative process and Carpel worked
hand-in-glove with Airbrush Action to breakdown subject areas, concept and compose
graphic elements from video frames, and rework art and titles through email
approvals. The program was mastered from DVC Pro.
PBS Television Premium
Richard Rodgers Some Enchanted Evening
Carpel created the user
interface and graphic art elements for this Richard Rodgers Centenary (100 Year)
Celebration that will
be used by several PBS television stations for a high-end pledge-drive premium!

All graphic arts elements were approved via email, and Carpel
received high marks for Dolby digital sound in this live theatrical performance
from our client!
George Washington University The Kalb Report
This 7 part series required
4 DVDs, and featured such broadcast journalist luminaries as Marvin Kalb, Dan
Rather, Ted Koppel, and Daniel Rumsfeld.

The cover art design and execution for this program was almost as much a challenge
as the DVD authoring itself! Carpel was able to provide a simple reportial
style and keep the program series under budget! This program was mastered from
Beta SP.
PBS Television The
Celtic Tenors
A Detroit PBS affiliate
contracted Carpel to produce a high-end premium for their most generous pledge
break donors. The program was aired in mid September, and the big challenge
of this DVD production was breaking out some of the bonus material in
the edit to create a natural separation of live stage elements with pre-recorded
studio sessions.

The live event contained many split edits at desirable chapter
points, and Carpel was able to finess some of the orchestral music vamps
which preceded the performers first visual appearance through some pre-burn
editing. This program was mastered from Beta SP.
Ft. Joseph Edwards Museum The Fort Edwards Story
The Fort Joseph Edwards
museum asked Carpel to create A DVD from their story of video that
would have two Distinct playback modes: one, that would play upon the user Pushing
the play button; and another mode that would allow the program to
loop constantly throughout the day in an automatic playback way.
Carpel sugggested a built-in intermission that would allow the docents to gather
a tour Group or visiting class together prior to the next program matinee
the client was grateful for the 2-minute on-screen intermission
countdown, and thanked us for the input!

This program was actually mastered from VHS, Due
to budgetary restrictions, but because the program was only 7 minutes in length,
Carpel was able to use a fairly low compression rate to preserve video quality.
